I’m Rahul Pokharkar
I’m a VFX artist with an engineering background who’s spent the last 12 years working in Canada on some of the most ambitious films in the industry, like the Oscar-winning Dune and the Oscar-nominated Top Gun. My journey has taken me from being a member of the SWA in Mumbai to collaborating with the Quebec Film and Television Council in Canada, and even sharing my knowledge as visiting faculty at the Film & Television Institute of India in Pune.
But while I’ve built a career bringing stories to life through visual effects, I’ve always felt a pull toward something more. In my spare time, I started writing, and to my surprise, I discovered a passion for storytelling that I couldn’t ignore. That’s why I’m pursuing the Screenplay for Film & Television program at Michigan State University in the USA, honing my craft and exploring new creative horizons.
My years in the film industry have given me a unique perspective. I understand the technical intricacies of filmmaking, but I also know how to weave those elements into compelling narratives. This combination of skills allows me to create scripts that are not only visually stunning but also emotionally resonant. As I look to the future, I’m excited to bring my stories to the screen and make my mark as a storyteller in film and television.
